---- — Robert Leo “Bob” Lucas, 64, of North Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Bob was born Dec. 20, 1948 in North Vernon, the son of Opal Wilson Ritchie and the late Ray Lucas.
He married Mary Sue Thomas in October 1988 in North Vernon, and she survives.
Bob retired in 2011 from AISIN U.S.A. in Seymour, and had previously worked for the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon, for 10 years.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge and Am Vets both in North Vernon. He enjoyed playing poker, tonk and darts, going to the gambling boats, watching westerns and the sci-fi channel and was an avid wrestling fan, but mostly he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mary Sue Lucas of North Vernon, his mother, Opal Ritchie of North Vernon; two daughters, Emma Jean Callahan of Seymour, and Teresa Diane (Randy) Anderson of Crothersville; a brother, Roger (Sherry) Lucas of North Vernon, and a sister, Sheila (Dave) Yux of North Vernon; two grandchildren, Chaz Michael Feider of Madison, and Landon Burns of Seymour, and his beloved dog, Brutis Leo Lucas.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Bill Lucas and a sister, Sharon Fox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rev. Richard Burcham officiating.
Friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Saturday, July 27, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and one hour prior the service on Sunday. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
