James F. Walls, 79, of Zionsville, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at IU North Health Campus in Carmel.
Jim was born Feb. 9, 1934 in Terre Haute, the son of Charles A. and Pearl (Harris) Walls.
He married Charlene (Scripture) Walls March 3, 1957, who survives.
He is also survived by three children: John J. (Rhonda) Walls of Zionsville, Todd D. (Corinne) Walls of Gurnee, Ill., and Lori J. (Tim) Randle of Zionsville; and six grandchildren: Jenna Walls, Katie Walls, Nick Randle, Grant Randle, Alec Walls and Cullen Walls.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Harris Walls.
A previous resident of Crawfordsville, Jim had lived in the Zionsville area for 14 years. He had worked as an insurance adjuster for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Inc., retiring in 1992. He was also part owner of Batesville Chrysler Dodge Jeep.
Jim was a 1952 graduate of Greensburg Community High School, and he later served in the National Guard for eight years. He was member of Young’s Chapel Christian Church in Crawfordsville as well as Darlington Masonic Lodge. He was a former board member and current member of TPA.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he was constantly on the move. Jim was a stranger to no one.
Services begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church in St. Paul, the same church in which Jim and Charlene were married. Pastor Alan Hughes will officiate.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Union Chapel cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life gathering will also take place later, in Zionsville.
