David Anthony Schroeder, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. David was born Jan. 30, 1934 in St. Paul, to the late Gregory and Charlotta Stier Schroeder.
David proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked tirelessly in the grocery business for over 50 years. He was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Indianapolis Pacers. Most of all, he loved his family – all of whom will dearly miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Hunter Schroeder; children, Cindy (Nick) Bondar, Jeff Schroeder, Jill Schroeder, Matthew (Rachael) Schroeder, Traci (Danny) Dailey, Gordon (Angel) LeFevre, and Kelli Sites; siblings, Justin Schroeder, Catherine Mauer, and Teresa Horan; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant son, Jay Schroeder, as well as siblings Margaret, Rosemary, Cecilia, Carl, Paul, Louis, and three infant siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, 10722 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12 at the funeral home. Interment in Washington Park East Cemetery.
