Dora (Robles) Redd, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Gregory, Texas, the daughter of Guadalupe and Felicita (Rojas) Robles.
She attended high school in Portland, Texas. Dora married Malcolm H. Redd on April 3, 1964, and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Dora lived in the area most of her life and enjoyed spending her time with friends and family and going to the casino. She was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church.
She is survived by sons, Johnny (Liza) Galan, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Malcolm H. (Julie) Redd II, of Shelbyville, Michael Redd of Radcliff, Kentucky; daughters, Lupe (Javier) Obregon of Angelton, Texas, Rachel Kesar of Shelbyville, Lynn (Joe) Vawter of North Vernon; sisters, Lupita (Jesse) Carrizales, of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Heath of Phenix City, Alabama; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Reynaldo Galan; daughter, Esther Galan; and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at the funeral home, with Rev. George Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery in Morristown.
