James Clio Copeland, 75, of Greensburg, passed away July 2, 2014, in Greensburg.
He was born July 9, 1938, in Greensburg, the son of James and Miriam Copeland. James was a 1956 graduate of Waldon High School. He was a member of the 4-H Club, Future Farmers of America, Ramboulette Sheep Associates and Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Jim was a United States Navy Veteran, where he was deployed on a special expedition to the South Pole for a year and a half to study the effects on the environment in that hemisphere.
Survivors include five children; one grandchild; and one sister, Christine Copeland, of Greensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7 at South Park Cemetery with Rev. Jon Porter officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Honor Guards of the VFW and the American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to cancer research.
