Mayme Smith Clark Penick, 95, of Louisvillle, Ky., passed away March 28, 2013 at Emeritus of River Oaks in Englewood, Fla.
She was born in Madison Jan. 6, 1918, and she moved to Louisville around 1945, until being moved to Englewood July 11, 2012.
Mayme worked for General Electric, Appliance Park in Louisville for 23 years, retiring after a heart attack. She loved to travel, read books and work word puzzles.
Preceding her in death were her husband Buford McCord (Mack) Penick in 1982, and later her step-son Buford M. Penick, Jr.
Survivors include her three sons, William E. Clark (Shirley) of Englewood, Fla., Jerald T. Clark (Sue), Bainbridge Island, WA, and Micheal D. Clark (Daisy) of Gentry, AR. She has 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Also surviving are two sisters, Rosetta “Rosie” Lutz of North Vernon, and Viola “Vi” Ray of Beaufort, N.C.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky., with the funeral service following at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Resthaven.
No flowers were her request, but the family would appreciate donations to Children’s Hospital Foundation, for the benefit of the Burn Unit, Kosair Children’s Hospital, PO Box 37370, Louisville, KY 40233.
