---- — Sara Lois Hime, 86, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Sara was born June 23, 1927 in Decatur County, the daughter of John William and Elizabeth Helen Norris. She was a 1945 graduate of Burney High School. On Feb. 19, 1946, Sara married Paul E. Hime in Hartsville, and he preceded her in death March 14, 2006.
Sara was a homemaker, but also served as a childcare provider. She was a member of the Burney United Methodist Church, the Candle Lighter’s homemakers club and she also enjoyed sending cards and letters to people and babysitting.
Survivors include her daughter Judith Paulette Sexton of Columbus; two sons – Mickey J. Hime Sr. of Fairland and Scott (Vicky) Hime of Greensburg; one sister, Nancy (John Menefee) Owens; one brother, William (Carol) Norris; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, a sister, Jane Stephens, and great-great-grandson Blake Wicks.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home.
Sara’s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
