Donald E. Faulconer, 83, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930 in Shelby County, the son of Howard and Pearl (Hawkins) Faulconer.
He married Virginia (McComas) Faulconer Aug. 15, 1953, and she survives.
Donald is also survived by two sons, Donald (Jeanneen) Faulconer Jr. of Shelbyville and Kevin (Jane) Faulconer of Greensburg; three daughters, Ginny (Rick) Brown of Waldron, Peggy Cdevaca of Shelbyville and Karen (Gerald) Miller of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Paul Faulconer, and two sisters, Mildred Thibo and Faye Emerich.
Donald worked as a maintenance mechanic at James River of Greensburg for 25 years and at Amos Plastic in Edinburgh for 18 years. He retied in 1992.
Donald was a 1949 graduate of Flat Rock High School and a member of the Greensburg American Legion Post 129..
He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Donald loved fishing and camping, and in his earlier years he enjoyed bowling. He was a fan of the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21 at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the funeral home, Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Burial follows in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County. Graveside services will be conducted by local veterans.
