Edwin “Dick” Ross Linville, 85, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 12, 2014.
Dick was born July 7, 1928, in Clarksburg, the son of Ferman “Pete” and Elsie (Barnard) Linville. On May 16, 1951, he married Betty Lou Byrd in Connersville and she survives.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Dick worked in Milwaukee on the Milwaukee Railroad for a year or so before moving back to Indiana. In 1983, he retired from the Ford Motor Company, Visteon Plant in Connersville. After his retirement, he farmed until he became too ill to continue. Dick was a lifelong member of the Mason’s Clarksburg Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Betty; one son, Perry (Sandra) Linville of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren, Steven, Ashley, Sara, Timothy, Pete and Johnnie Linville, Christopher, Leeann, and Brigitte Peters, and Makayla Lowery; and one great-granddaughter, Hayden Linville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Steven Linville; one brother, Donald “Timmy” Linville and one sister, Carmen Linville.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Clarksburg Cemetery, with Rev. Jerran Jackson officiating.
