Richard Lee Alexander, 87, of Brownsburg, died May 6, 2014. Born in Conway Springs, Kansas, in 1927, he was the son of J.B. and Lena Alexander. They preceded him in death, as did a brother, Calvin Alexander. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Fuller Alexander, and granddaughter, Jennifer Elise Alexander.
He was a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was employed for over 33 years with Spencer Chemical, Gulf Oil and Chevron Chemical Companies, working mostly in the petrochemical industries. He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Midway during World War Two.
He is survived by children: Janet Meegan, Brownsburg, David Alexander, Greensburg, Mary Susan Miller, Plano, Texas, Ben Alexander, Tyler, Texas, and Stephen Alexander, Tiki Island, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, May 10, at Messiah Lutheran Church, with visitation there from 11 a.m., until time of service. Interment will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
