Greensburg — Ada Evelyn McLaughlin, 93, born to Robert E. and Vergie L. McLaughlin Nov. 10, 1919 passed away Dec. 28, 2012.

She was a 1937 graduate of Madison High School. Evelyn attended Indiana Business College, then went to work at Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Indianapolis.

When World War II broke out, Evelyn and her two brothers joined the military and were sent in three different directions.

After the war, she married Dr. Orville M. Graves Jr., and they lived in LaJolla, Calif. While there, she was very active in the community and the school their two sons attended, she sang in the church choir and she worked at her husband’s optometry office. She also worked at the Drug Enforcement Agency and was a volunteer coordinator for the Veteran’s Hospital.

Evelyn is survived by two sons: Robert L. Graves, Poway, Calif., and Thomas W. Graves, LaJolla, Calif.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Suzanne Green and Janet Power, both of Greensburg, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack McLaughlin of Eminence, Ky., and James R. McLaughlin of Greensburg.

Graveside services at South Park Cemetery are being arranged.
