James R. Cuskaden, 78, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born Feb. 4, 1935 in Shelby County, to Robert Cuskaden and Nora Favors Cuskaden. He worked for the State of Indiana for several years. He was married to Linda R. Powell Aug. 28, 1970, and she survives, along with a son, David Cuskaden and daughters: Kristin Cuskaden, Greensburg, Jamie Cuskaden, Indianapolis, Jodie (David) Sherrier, Colorado, Julie Wheeler, Indianapolis; and brother: William Cherry, Florida; and sister: Margie Woodard Black, Evansville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Jim graudated from Greensburg High Schoo in 1953 and was a star basketball player. He was a member of First Christian Church and a social member of the American Legion and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Marjorie Vanderbur and Martha Hoffman; and brothers: Robert Cherry, George Cherry, Lloyd Cuskaden, Bobby Cuskaden, Everett Cuskaden.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m., Sept. 17, at First Christian Church, Greensburg, with a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
