Tijera Ann “T.J.” Waggoner, 59, of North Vernon, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 1, 1953, in New Castle, the daughter of Richard Earl and Peggy Sue Miles Laughner.
She married Charles Robert “Chuck” Waggoner April 28, 1974 in Martinsville. He survives.
T.J. was the director of Human Services Inc. in Columbus, and had previously worked for Head Start in both Greensburg and Brown County.
She was a 1971 graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education in 1976 and her Master’s Degree in 1979. She was a member of Kappa Delta in Bloomington and First Baptist Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck” Waggoner of North Vernon; one son, Bradley (Lindsey) Waggoner of Fort Bliss, Texas; three daughters, Tica (Ty) Rogers of Kokomo, Amy Elizabeth Waggoner of Indianapolis, and Caris Waggoner of North Vernon, and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Robbie and Rick Laughner and a sister, Alice Perrine.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at First Baptist Church in North Vernon, Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call at First Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
