---- — Edward “Eddie” Howard, 89, of Greensburg, passed away August 18, 2013.
He was born April 5, 1924 in Lincoln County, Ky., the son of Thomas and Jessie (Carpenter) Howard.
He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1943. On September 15, 1945 he married Dorothy Bausback. They were married for over 67 years and she survives. Eddie retired from First Federal Savings and Loan as the Bank Managing President in 1983. He served on the Board of Directors from 1952 until 2002. When he retired as Board Chairman, he had the distinction of being the longest serving director of First Federal Savings and Loan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Paula Howard; son, Steven (Linda) Howard; grandchildren, Stephanie (Keith) Kinnick, Steven Howard II, David Howard, and Nicholas (Shawna) Howard; great- grandchildren, Kevin (Ramanda) Kinnick, Ryan (Kortnie) Kinnick, Courtney Kinnick, Jocelyn Howard, Whitney Howard, and Meriam Howard; great-great-grandchildren, Chesney Kinnick and Alayna Kinnick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eula Howard, Beulah Howard, and Ethel Jaynes; and brothers, Loyd Howard, Curtis Howard, Rowlins Howard, and James Howard.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the funeral at moon. Rev. Cliff Bunch will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
