Daniel Dale Tichenor, 72, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at his residence.
He was born April 8, 1940 in Westport.
He was the son of Monford D. and Mary E. (Moore) Tichenor.
Mr. Tichenor was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and graduated from Greensburg Christian Academy in 1999. He worked at Lowe’s Grain Mill as a machine operator for 12 years and he worked for Ralph Schwering on the farm.
He enjoyed playing solitaire and woodworking.
He married Juanita Fay Powell in Greensburg Sept. 14, 1957.
He is survived by his wife, his daughters: Wanda Kay (Mark) Orr of Greensburg, Debra Louise (Morris) Alexander of Fairland, Betty Jean (Tim) Barrett of Milford, Cheryl Ann (Scott) Cunningham of Greensburg, Brenda Fay (Larry) Abplanalp of Napoleon; his sons: Robert Dale (Nan) Tichenor of Shelbyville, John Edward (Becky) Tichenor of Napoleon, Kenneth (Deanna) Tichenor of Greensburg, Gary Dewayne (Angie) Tichenor of Milan; his sister, Kay Baylis of Greensburg; his brothers: Jim Tichenor of Greensburg, Gerald Tichenor of Greensburg and Nathan Tichenor of Versailles; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Louis Tichenor; his granddaughter Rachel Orr; his grandsons Richard Garrison, Daniel Reardon and Trey Schmaltz.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport, Mike Cunnington officiating.
Burial will be in Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
