Pastor Clarence Joseph Lee age 86, of Rushville, went home to his Lord May 7, 2013 with his loving family at his side.
Clarence was born Oct. 19, 1926 in Raleigh, the son of the late George Jack and Edith Louise (Rodgers) Lee.
He married Donna Sue Hannun June 15, 1957 and she preceded him in death Oct. 24, 2012.
His was a life of service to others.
He was Pastor of the former Milroy Baptist Church and was a co-founder of the Rushville Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was the founder of the Calvary Baptist Church in Greensburg. He retired from East Hill Cemetery as superintendent after 19 years of service and sold monuments for Oakley Monuments in Greensburg. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club.
He also worked as a custodian at the Milroy School in years past.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son Jack J. (Ruth) Lee, of Frankfort, Ky.; two daughters, Molly (Clifford) Haynes, of Rushville, and Roxanne J. Owens, of Indianapolis, and a brother, Walter “Buddy” Lee of Greensburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by three sisters.
A Celebration of Life service will begin 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, Chaplain Brad Smith officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will follow at Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
