Carl A. Gay, 82, of St. Paul, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, in Shelbyville.
Carl was born May 12, 1931 in St. Paul, the son of Charles and Viola (Lock) Gay.
He married Carolyn (Hansing) Gay Aug. 4, 1954 and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Chris (Karen) Gay of Valparaiso and Curt (Jainey) Gay of Gilbert, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sara, Erik, Lindy and Amber, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
A lifetime resident of the St. Paul area, Carl worked as a technician at KCL Corporation for 39 years, retiring in 1994.
He attended St. Paul High School and was a member of St. Paul Christian Church. He served in the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul, Rev. George Mitchell officiating.
A graveside military service will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
A gathering of friends will be held immediately after the service at Thorntree Lake clubhouse.
