Annabelle C. Starke, 87, Westport, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Born August 13, 1926 in Batesville, she was the daughter of Gus and Ida (Wissel) Schumacher.
She was married to Vincent P. Starke, Jr. on April 9, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1997.
Annabelle helped her husband run the farm. She also worked for several years cleaning houses. Later in life, she ran several flea markets in the area, along with her husband. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the church.
She is survived by her sons, Charlie (Linda) Starke, Dale (Rhonda) Starke; daughter, Barb McLaughlin; brothers, Paul and Bob Schumacher; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Gary Schumacher; and two grandchildren, Kortney Snyder and Devin Lawler.
A public rosary for family and friends will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the funeral home and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen.
Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 4 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen with Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.
Memorials may be made to the Millhousen Volunteer Fire Department.
