Greensburg — Sr. Consolata Kuhn, 97, of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, died Friday, March 1 at the convent.

Born Oct. 24, 1915 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Anna and Michael Kuhn.

She entered the convent Oct. 28, 1934 and made her final vows July 2, 1940.

A teacher, she taught at St. Mary’s in Bloomington, Ill.; St. Joseph’s in Shelbyville and Oldenburg Academy; St. Francis Seraph, Our Lady of Angel’s High School, Roger Bacon High School and St. Clements in Cincinnati, Ohio, Badin High School in Hamilton, Ohio, St. Peter’s in Chillicothe, Ohio and St. Monica’s in Kansas City, Mo.

Sr. Consolata had a calm nature and fun personality. Early in her teaching career, she taught elementary grades and later became a high school biology teacher. She loved nature and kept her students engaged by keeping the learning interesting and current. After retiring from teaching, she accepted a formation position assisting new members with their adjustment to community life in the convent. Her grace, kindness, and gentle demeanor were well suited for this.

She is survived by nieces Cheryl Popp of Cincinnati, Ohio., Dianne Chander of Troy, Mich.; nephew Robert Kuhn of Apton, Calif., and two great nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Kuhn.

Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the motherhouse chapel in Oldenburg followed by services at 3 p.m., Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M.
