---- — Tommie E. Ellerman, 75, of St. Paul, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Tommie was born July 17, 1937 in Rushville, the son of Chester and Mabel (Rutherford) Ellerman.
He married Donna Sue Ellerman Sept. 14, 1957, and she survives.
Tommie started Ellerman Roofing in 1957 and was joined by his son Doug in 1976. Tommie was still an active partner at the time of his death. He managed several roofing projects over the years in central and southern Indiana.
Tommie attended St. Paul High School. He also attended the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle.
Tommie enjoyed playing softball, trapping, setting catfish lines on the Flatrock River, snowmobiling, family vacations, woodworking, cutting firewood, buying houses and fixing them up, and joking and teasing with people. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids, family and his beloved dog, Smokey.
In addition to his wife, Tommie is survived by his son Douglas (Sherry) Ellerman of St. Paul, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmie Ellerman.
Funeral services begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Jeff Sangl will officiate the ceremony.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, also at the funeral home.
Burial follows in Paul Hill Cemetery, St. Paul.
