Greensburg — Frieda E. Muckerheide, 95, Greensburg, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013, at her residence.
Born May 10, 1918 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Frank and Veronica (Kappes) Berkemeier.
She was a homemaker and loved being with her family. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Enochsburg. She was married to John B. Muckerheide on September 10, 1941, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1999.
She is survived by three sons, Carl (Nancy) Muckerheide of Batesville, Paul (Shirley) Muckerheide of Hamilton, Ohio, Mark Muckerheide of Greensburg; three daughters, Sara (Greg) McKell of Greensburg, Ruth (Donald) Gauck of Greensburg, Mary Beth (Thomas) Ruble of Greensburg; one sister, Rosemary Berkemeier of Greensburg; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers, Joseph Berkemeier, Herman Berkemeier, Edward Berkemeier, Rev. Charles Berkemeier, Raymond Berkemeier, Maurice Berkemeier; one sister, Clara Schoettmer; one daughter-in-law, Rita Sue Muckerheide; and one step-grandson, Brian Proffitt.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary service for family and friends was held on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Enochsburg with Rev. John Geis officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
