---- — Marguerite Louise Fields, 82 of Oldenburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville.
Marguerite was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Greensburg, the daughter of Herman and Marguerite Koors. She was a 1949 graduate of Greensburg High School and then furthered her education attending Marian University of Cincinnati, and IUPUI.
On April 24, 1954 she married Paul Fields in Greensburg, and he passed away in 1991.
Marguerite taught first and second grade at St. Mary’s Catholic School for 30 years. She was member of the Holy Family Parish in Oldenburg, a Lay Associate for the Sisters of St. Francis, a Eucharistic Minister and also taught CCD and RCIA. Marguerite enjoyed traveling, needlework, was an avid sports fan, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters: Paula Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jane (Doug) Weigel of Oldenburg, and Connie (Gary) Johnston of Windsor, Colo., eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Marianne Schroeder and Frances (Liz) John, and three brothers George, Bill, and James Koors.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2 p.m. until start of the funeral mass at 4 p.m. all at the Sisters of St. Francis Chapel in Oldenburg.
Interment will be Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.
