Doris L. Kendall of Greensburg, Indiana was born Sept. 25, 1924 and went to Heaven Nov. 10, 2013.
Doris was the daughter of Cecil and Dorothy (Goff) Tennell of Shelby County. Doris married Ralph W. Kendall Sept. 26, 1942 in Shelby County.
She is survived by sons Larry (Suzanne) Kendall of Osgood and Robert (Carol) Kendall of Greensburg. She leaves grandchildren Kim (Steve) Scudder of Greensburg, Cindy (Shane) Wright of Palm Harbor, Fla., Mandy (Jayson) Boyers of Burlington, Vt., Jenny (Rick) Swango of Greensburg, and Mike (Erika) Kendall of Winfield, Kan. Great-grandchildren include Kyle and Chad Scudder, Regan and Lexi Swango of Greensburg, and Steven, Ryan and Brandon Kendall of Winfield, Kansas.
She will be missed by brothers Harold (Martha) Tennell of Franklin, Maurice (Sharon) Tennell and Ron (Jean) Tennell of Flat Rock, sister Rose Hellmich of Greensburg and sister-in-law, Reba Tennell of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by brothers Cecil Tennell and William Tennell plus sisters Betty Runshe and Norma Meal.
Doris was a member of Osgood Baptist Church. Doris and Ralph were founding members of the Decatur County Rural Couples and she remained a member to her death. Doris also was a founder of the Decatur County Sheep Queen contest. Doris sold Stanley Home Products for over 40 years. During this time she supported many organizations, schools, and church groups.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Pastor Donald Buck will be officiating.
