Minutes of Kitchen Kookies' meeting

On April 2, the Kitchen Kookies met at the home of Norma Louden, with all ten members present. For her devotions, Norma read, “Didn’t have that Green Thing Back then.”

The meeting opened with President Polly McCreary leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the club creed. The ‘thought of the month’ was read by Barbara Smiley. Roll call was taken, and secretary and treasurer reports were given.

Susan Reasonser gave the Health & Safety lesson, which covered ten foods that help us live longer: almonds, apples, bananas, blueberries, broccoli, beans, beets, spinach, sweet potatoes and wheat germ. For cultural arts, Alice Woodhull read “Wasn’t this As?”

Polly asked the club what they would like to do with the two Greensburg Monopoly Games that have been donated to us, and the club subsequently voted to donate both to Big Brother/Big Sisters. Plans for International Night are being finalized.

Dues for next year were collected and new officers nominated; they are: Polly McCreary for president; Erma Moore for vice president; and Barbara Smiley for secretary.

The next meeting of Kitchen Kookies will be held at 5:30 p.m., May 7, at Mayasari Indonesian Grill, with Carol Smiley hosting.

Contest winners were Carol Smiley and Susan Reasonser. The meeting was closed with a singing of the club song.
