Linger Awhile Extension Homemakers
Eight members of the Linger Awhile Extension Homemakers met at 6 p.m., June 18, at Nanna’s House B&B on East Base Road to celebrate our Club’s 60th Anniversary.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Joann Burkhart, with her husband Ed and daughter Karen assisting in the serving.
We were also given a history of their home and a guided tour.
In a short business session, Paulette Duerstock reported on the June 2 Council meeting. Our club will be hosting the Farm & Home Building at the Fair from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday July 15. Volunteers are needed to help with the Pie Eating Contest and Food Auction Monday evening to benefit New Directions and Our Hospice. Eileen Fisse had sign-up sheets for helping with Open Class exhibits, Baby Show, etc.
Puppy Pillows will be stuffed and sewn together on Tuesday of the Fair beginning at 11 a.m. In other business, our dues will be raised to $15 next year.
Our next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., July 16, at Irene Tebbe’s home, followed by installation of our newly-elected officers.
