The Clinton Extension Homemakers met July 1 at the home of Barb Bohman.
Co-hostess Deb Greive assisted in serving homemade ice dream with toppings, brownies, peanut butter bars, nuts and tea or lemonade. Lucky plate winners were Donna Flint and Ann Lindsay. Connie Fruchtnicht opened the meeting by leading the Pledge to the Flag and the club creed. She read the thought, “Nothing is impossible.”
The word itself says, “I’m Possible.” She noted that the thought, roll call and song for the month were supplied by Clinton Club courtesy of Barb and Deb. Deb had devotions, “A Picnic Prayer.”
Sixteen members answered roll call by telling their favorite place to have a picnic. Happy Birthday was sung for Ruth Flack, Bonita Hellmich and Deb.
Happy Anniversary was sung for Bonita. The song of the month, “God Bless America” was sung exuberantly. Minutes of the June meeting were approved as read. Ann Lindsay gave the Treasurer’s report and all dues were paid. Program books were completed for the coming year.
Fair books were distributed. For cultural arts we heard about “Ping Pong Artists.” For health and safety, Bonita told hints for Tornado Safety. Deb had the lesson, “Small Steps to Health and Wealth.” The next meeting is Aug. 5 at the historical museum to view the international exhibit. Connie thanked the members for attending and the hostesses Barb and Deb. The club prayer was sung to close.
