Greensburg — The Clinton Extension Homemakers met Sept. 4 at the home of Marilyn Jackson, with a delicious picnic.

Co-hostess Jessie Hampton had made an oatmeal cake for dessert. Ruth Flack was the winner of a door prize.

Connie Fruchtnicht opened the meeting by leading the pledge to the flag and the club creed.

For devotions, Marilyn Jackson read an article, "Hearts to Trust and Minutes to Rest." Connie read the thought, "Five out of four people have trouble with fractions."

Maxine Hayes led in singing, "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree."

Happy Birthday was sing for Jessie Hampton and Linda Volk.

Sixteen members answered roll call by telling their favorite subject in school.

The minutes were approved as read. Dorothy Mahan gave the Treasurer's Report.

Connie read an interesting article, "Jelly with a thousand uses" about Vaseline.

Marilyn Davis reported attending the district meeting in Switzerland County along with Ruth Flack and Regina Osborn.

Twelve members attended from Decatur County. Our Madison district had 61 new members wand was awarded $150.

Items are being collected for a display at the Historical Museum in honor of Extension Homemakers. Marilyn Beaver explained the Taste of Museum" to be held during the Fall Festival. Marilyn Jackson was the winner for the Fall Retreat at camp Higher Ground.

Several members made reservations to attend. Also members made reservations to attend Achievement Night, Oct. 4.

For Health and Safety, Donna Flint talked about gum disease and said to be sure to floss. It was voted to purchase a book for the 100th Anniversary at $15.

Bonita Hellmich had made booklets of the recipes of the apple contest and these were distributed.

Plans were made to enter a float in the Fall Festival Parade, workers are to meet at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

Next meeting is at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Historical Museum, members are urged to invite guests. Club prayer was sung to close.
