Barbie Brown and Susan Burkhart attended the Psi lota Xi National Convention in Carmel, June 22 to 24.
Psi lota Xi meets annually to vote on charitable contributions to be distributed nationally. This year Psi lota Xi established a new long term project that will result in donations over $100,00 to the University of Toledo Intensive Stuttering Clinic Program for adolescents and adults.
The last two long term projects include an endowed professorship at Indiana University School of Medicine/Riley Hospital and Cleft Palate Research at the University of Illinois.
The theme for the convention was, ÒYou're an Essential Piece of the PuzzleÓ and celebrated accomplishments of this charitable organization led by Janice Stagg, National President.
Annually Psi Iota Xi donates nearly one million dollars to art, literature, music and speech and hearing projects. Also, at this year's convention Greensburg resident Kim Crawley was installed as the 2012-2013 National President.
Kim and the Sigma chapter will host the National Convention June 28 to 30, 2013 in Indianapolis at the Crowne Plaza at Union Station downtown. The theme for their convention will be ÒAll Aboard the Psi Ote Express.Ó
Sigma chapter of Greensburg raises funds though annual flower sales in the spring, and cheese balls and fudge sales in the fall.
