NARFE selects officers

Chapter 0813 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees met on Nov. 19 at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Greensburg for its monthly meeting. The meeting was opened by President Eva Stone welcoming those present and followed with Kay Hineman leading the group with the Pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.

November is the chapters’ organization/business month with no monthly program scheduled. Chapter Officers were selected for the coming year. The chapter officers are: President Eva Stone from Connersville, vice president Andrea Wagner from Batesville, secretary Harold DeWitt from Rushville and treasurer Gertrude Wickliff from Shelbyville.

Committee assignments for 2014 are: Legislative officer Robert McClintic from Greensburg, service officer Richard Wagner from Batesville, membership and telephone Eva Vanatta from Milroy and chaplain/sunshine Kay Hineman from Milroy.

Other chapter business had the secretary and treasurer reports being read and approved with the legislative officer, service officer and committee reports following.

The attendance prize was won by Gertrude Wickliff. Birthdays for November were Richard and Andrea Wagner from Batesville, and anniversary of Paul and Dorine Rosfeld from Rushville of 57 years were all acknowledged.

The next meeting will be the chapters’ annual Christmas party starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Dec. 17 at the Bluebird Restaurant in Morristown. Lunch will be served (lunch will be paid for by the chapter) with “Dirty Bingo” following after lunch. Members are to bring one gift not more $10 that will be picked by bingo game winners and once all gifts are gone, the following dirty bingo winners get to pick from any of the gifts that were already selected. It’s a fun time for all. All chapter members are encouraged to attend.
