Clinton Extension Homemakers hold Christmas party

Clinton Extension Homemakers

The Clinton Extension Homemakers met at 6 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Batesville Big Four Cafe for their annual Christmas Party. President Connie Fruchtnicht welcomed everyone and offered a prayer of thanks before a bountiful meal. For desserts, Bonita Hellmich made pumpkin frost and Regina Osborn made apple cake with whipped cream. Seventeen members attended with 11 guests including Jack Blasdel, George Chadwell, John Derheimer, Gary Davis, Bill Flack, Alan Flint, Richard Fruchtnicht, Fred Helmich, Richard Mahan, Max Richey, and Mike Spreckelson.

For favors, Connie presented a bag of M&M’s with a note explaining the letters pertaining to the meaning of Christmas. Bonita had a bag of chocolates, Pam Blasdel made sugared pecans and Regina Osborn gave a bag of walnut meats. Connie had a guessing game of how many mints were in a jar. Doris Richey won this game with the closest guess. The nine winners at the Christmas game were Pam, Jack, Pauline White, Marilyn Davis, Betty Chadwell, Kaywin Lindsay, Regina, Alan and Bill.

A gift exchange was held by selecting a card and choosing a gift. One announcement was to have volunteer hours turned in at the February meeting for November, December and January.

Thinking of possible winter weather conditions in January, the January meeting was cancelled. The next meeting will be the anniversary celebration at 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the new Tiki Bar on the square. Thanks to Deb Greiwe and Katie Spreckelson for arranging the Christmas Party, Pam for bringing the prizes and Bonita and Regina for desserts.

Many wishes were exchanged for a Merry Christmas.

Night Club Christmas party

The Night Club met at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at The Beach at Lake Santee with six members present for our Christmas party and meeting. Roll call was answered by telling about a doll you received for Christmas.
