The Greensburg summer traveling tennis squad participated in a
six-team season-ending tournament at Shelbyville Wednesday
afternoon and the local team emerged as a solid third place finisher.
The results were: No. 1 singles: Ali Langferman, 0-2; No. 2 singles:
Rye Burkert, 2-1 third place; No. 3 singles: Craig Schebler, 2-1, third
place; No. 4 singles: Tom Lawrence, 2-1, second place; No. 1
doubles: Kyle Colson and Ryan Martin, 2-1 3rd place; No. 2 doubles:
Vanessa Lawrence and Lyndsey Louder, 3-0, first place; No. 3
doubles: Clare Welage and Danielle Schroder, 2-1, second place;
No. 4 doubles: Sara Kramer and Alexis Bailey, 2-1, third place and
playing for Batesville were Mack Reed and Caroline Pratt, 2-1 good
for third place.
“We didn’t add up all the points, but we were firmly in third place,”
said Coach Gary Bailey. “The Columbus team played well and were
probably first and Batesville took second.”
