Sarah Wallpe has been chosen as the Daily News’ female athlete of the week with a dominant front-line performance for the Lady Chargers volleyball team. For the week, she served 33-of-37 with three aces, hit 54-of-60 with 27 kills, had six block kills and dug out 15 enemy shots. She helped the Chargers defeat Rushville, Indiana School for the Deaf and Franklin County while losing but one game.

Mitch Tuttle

Senior, Greensburg

Quarterback Mitch Tuttle gets the neck-and-neck nod as the male athlete of the week over a deserving Justin Huber, his counterpart at North Decatur. In the Marsh Invitational game against Shelbyville, Tuttle accounted for 326 yards total offense with 224 yards rushing, 45 yards passing and 57 yards on kicks returned overshadowing Huber’s 271 yards total offense with 93 yards rushing and 178 yards passing against Union county. Tuttle also added 144 net yards punting in four kicks.
