Greensburg Junior High traveled to Batesville last Wednesday and defeated Batesville’s seventh and eighth grade teams in three games.

The seventh grade won be scores of 24-25, 25-19 and 15-14.

Top players Statistically were Allison Hamilton who was 18-of-20 passing and 7-of-7 serving, Tori Abplanalp who was 15-of-15 passing; 13-of-13 serving with an ace and 12-of-13 setting; Tanea Herbert who was 12-of-13 passing and 7-of-7 setting; Kaylie Wood who was 12-of-12 serving with an ace and set 5-of-6 and Claire Welage who was 9-of-10 serving with an ace.

Myra Steele had four spikes, Abplanalp 3 and Welage, Phillips and Kamman added one each. Steele, Abplanalp and Welage each had three dinks and Phillips and Herbert each had two. Welage and Steele had one block each.

Also helping out on defense were Makayla Bedel, Sydney Wettering, Annalie Scheidler, and Maddie Dance

The eighth grade’s scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 15-10.

“The offense stepped up and had a solid performance at the net,” Coach Sue Burkhart said. “Adding to great offense and defense were Kaeli Fong, Shelby Ward, Megan Lozier and Nora Stacy.

Statistical leaders were Liz Richardson 8-of-8 with two aces, Clare Owens and Megan Blankman each set 100% for the night, Heidi Dance had eight blocks, Kincy Bumbala two and Hannah Schroeder one, Audrey Geis had 35-of-37 passing, Dance spikes 12-of-14 with five kills and Owens had four tips.
