Lady Pirates play to scoreless tie

Greensburg played host to the Lady Tigers of Triton Central on

Saturday in a game that was played to a scoreless tie.

The entire game was a back-and-forth contest with neither team

getting on the board. The visitors managed to get off 14 shots that

were turned away by Ellen Weigel who earned her third shut out of

the season.

Greensburg had nearly as many shots on goal, 11, that as the Tigers’ goalie

had to turn away. The best chance was off the foot of Brianna

Donnelly who was denied on a breakaway when the keeper

made a great save.

Greensburg was missing two key pieces of their line-up as seniors

Sara Welage and Allison Smith missed the game because they

were taking SATs that morning.

“They are two big players for us, but hats off to Triton Central, who

also have some key people hurt,” said Coach Jason Bryant. “Both
