Waldron scored two second-half goals, the last of which came in the

77th minute of the contest, to defeat the Pirates, 3-1, to end the

boys’ soccer season.

The first half was played to a 1-1 tie with Casey Jones scoring for the

Pirates and Kyle Williams sneaking one by Pirates' goalie William

Wettering during the first 40 minutes of play.

The Pirates would only get 10 shots on goal during the entire

contest.

“We got them all at the end,” said Coach Rick Fayette. “We had four

or five opportunities to tie the game bur failed to put the ball in the

net . They got their last goal with just over three minutes to go.”

It all came down to the shots.

“At the end of the day, they had more and better shots on goal than

we did,” he added.

In defeat Wettering was credited with 15 saves, six more than were
