Pirate 7B boys post first win
The Greensburg Pirates 7B team returned to action at home against visiting Southwestern and came away with their first victory of the season, 36-12.
Eric Million led all scorers with 11 points while grabbing three rebounds.
Justin Bischoff was next with five points. Michael Zapfe, Jaron Markland, and Evan Gindling all had four points. Aaron Black two points and team-high six rebounds. Dustin Harrelson, Austin Redd, and Blaine Schroeder all chipped in with two points. Clayton Cain and Dylan Brown each pulled down three rebounds.
North JH boys split against Eagles
The North Decatur eighth grade boys basketball team fell to Jac-Cen-Del 27-16 in recent action. JCD took a 9-3 lead at the first stop, but the Chargers outscored the Eagles 7-6 in the second quarter. JCD pulled away, though, and led 23-12 after the third period.
Evan Smith led North with 11 points. Cole Parmer scored four and Quirin Gauck chipped in one.
North is now 5-2.
The North seventh grade team beat JCD 57-11. North led 12-3 after the first quarter and 21-7 at the half, then outscored the Eagles 24-4 in the third quarter. The Chargers blanked the Eagles 12-0 in the final quarter.
Garrett Metz led North with 24 points. Ethan Herbert and Tyler Walterman each scored eight, while Braden Blauvelt scored seven. Justin Allgeier added six, while Bret Wroblewski and Josh Nobbe each chipped in two.
The seventh graders are now 6-0 on the season.
North girls re-scheduled for Jan. 9
The North Decatur girls varsity and JV basketball games at Eastern Hancock were rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9, with the JV starting at 6 p.m.
North boys at Edinburgh postponed
No make-up date has been set for the North Decatur boys varsity/JV games at Edinburgh, postponed Saturday, Dec. 14 because of weather.
