The North Decatur junior high basketball teams bowed out in the Mid-Hoosier Conference basketball tournaments.
The North eighth graders advanced to the Semi Finals and fell to Morristown 56-26. Morristown led 16-6 after the first quarter and 25-10 at halftime.
Evan Smith led North with 13 points, while Cole Parmer scored nine. Jake Hartman and Taylon Hogg each added two.
In the seventh grade MHC tournament, the Chargers beat Knightstown 47-24. North led 15-7 after the first quarter and 25-15 at the half, then outscored the Panthers 22-9 in the second half.
Garrett Metz led North with 20 points. Tyler Walterman scored 15, while Cameron Adams added seven. Braden Blauvelt scored three and Justin Allgeier chipped in two.
The seventh graders fell to Indian Creek 27-25 in the Semi Finals. The Chargers record stands at 12-2 for the season.
Creek led North 6-2 after the first quarter and 24-11 at the half. North outscored Creek 9-6 in the final quarter, but it was not enough.
Cameron Adams led North with 15 points, while Braden Blauvelt and Tyler Walterman each added five.
“Got beat by a quick, undefeated Indian Creek team,” said coach Mark Mohr. “Turnovers were a problem for the Chargers.”
