Greensburg — Posted below are the Decatur County sports digest announcements for Jan. 11.

Saturday

GB wrestling at Brown County Invite, 8 a.m. weigh-in

GB boys at Connersville, 6 p.m. JV

Wrestling at Franklin County now Jan. 22

The wrestling meet scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 at Franklin County has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 22. The weigh-in will be at 5 p.m., with wrestling starting at 6 p.m.



North boys at Edinburgh Jan. 27

The North Decatur boys varsity/JV games against host Edinburgh Tuesday are now being played Monday, Jan. 27. The games had been postponed because of winter weather. They were originally postponed Saturday, Dec. 14 because of weather.



North 8th boys beat South 41-17

The North Decatur eighth grade boys basketball team defeated South Decatur 41-17 in recent junior high action.

North led 14-5 at the end of the first quarter and 25-7 at halftime. North outscored South 16-10 in the second half.

Cole Parmer led North with 19 points. Evan Smith followed with 13. Caleb Stapp scored four, while Brandon Becker, Luke Kinker and Taylon Hogg each chipped in two.

 

Pirate 7th boys beat Greendale

The Greensburg 7A boys basketball team won 61-28 over Greendale after a long break and cancellations.

Greendale stayed with the Pirates in the first period trailing 11-8 before Greensburg extended the lead to 30-17 at halftime.

The Pirates had a good third quarter posting 19 pts. and holding the Bengals to one field goal 49-19 as the period ended. Mason McLeod led the team with 21 pts., 9 boards and 6 steals. Cole Carder also scored in double figures with 10 pts. followed by Drew Comer with 9 pts. and a team high 4 assists. Trevor Foster had a season high 5 pts. and picked off 3 steals. Eric Million, up from the B team, did a nice job scoring 4 pts. Joey Woods added 4 pts. while Aaron Black scored 4 pts. and pulled down 5 rebounds. Evan Gindling and Dylan Mann rounded out the scoring with 2 pts. each. Logan Smith had two rebounds.
