Greensburg — Posted below are the Decatur County sports digest announcements for March 11.

Regional ticket sales set

Tickets for the Washington Regional on Saturday, March 15 will be available in the athletic office this week. The tickets will be sold from Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. until noon.

Greensburg will play Silver Creek in the first semifinal game Saturday at 10 a.m.

 

Pirate 8th girls beat Shelbyville in tourney

The Greensburg girls eighth grade basketball team traveled to Shelbyville Saturday morning for the start of the four-way tournament and came out victorious, 36-20.

Leading the Lady Pirates against the Lady Bears was Bailey Meyer with 10 points. Kyra Whitaker scored eight points, while Cameron Jones and Sierra Johnson each scored six. Keirsten Lynette, Ashlynn Meyer and Ashley Bower each added two.

Ashlynn Meyer led the team with eight rebounds, while Johnson and Lynette added six. Ashlynn Meyer tallied a team-high six steals.

More stats:

Rebounds: Bower 2, Bailey Meyer 2, Whitaker 1, Jones 1, Kirstin Hersley 1.

Assists: Whitaker 2, Ashlynn Meyer 1, Bower 1.

Steals: Jones 4, Bailey Meyer 2, Whitaker 1, Kirstin Hersley 1.

Blocks: Lynette 2, Whitaker 1.

 

Decatur County Youth Baseball offers signups

The registration period for Decatur County Youth Baseball has started.

Registration forms have been given to students at North and South Decatur Elementary Schools. Forms are also available at the office at St. Mary’s School and at North and South Decatur High Schools.

Registration forms are also available at www.dcyouthbaseball.com.

The fee is $20 per player and is due with the completed registration form before March 14, 2014.

Registrations postmarked/received after March 14 will be $25.

DCGSA signups this month

The registration period for the Decatur County Girls Softball Association has approached!

DCGSA is taking registration for slow pitch and fast pitch softball. Signups are taking place every Saturday in the month of March (3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Armory (Park and Rec Building)
