Chargers host Cougars, Lions in track opener

---- — The North Decatur and South Decatur track and field teams opened the season against Rushville Tuesday at North Decatur.

Despite Rushville winning both meets, North and South turned in several first-place finishes. The North girls took second and the South boys took second overall.

South’s Luke May won the discus, while Sam Studler tallied a personal-best in winning the 400-meter dash.

For North, junior Eric Moorman won the 800-meter run and was second in the 1600. Sophomore Evan Wallpe captured the shot put, while Randall Canady took second.

For the North girls, junior Allie Louder won the discus. Baili Ewing was second in the 300-meter hurdles.

For South, Paige Wilmer won the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Ashley Hamilton was second in the 800-meter run.
