The Greensburg football team dominated the visiting Lawrenceburg Tigers for the first 24 minutes of action Friday night at Shriver Field.
The Tigers could not buy a first down on offense, or a stop on defense. Greensburg scored on three of its first four possessions, featuring the legs of junior Trent Black and a strong performance from the offensive line.
For the next 24 minutes, the Tigers adjusted and scored three touchdowns to overcome the Pirates 21-20.
Greensburg gained nearly 200 yards on the ground in the first half, more than triple the Tigers’ output.
The momentum shifted and, just like in last year’s Lawrenceburg game, the Tigers regained control and came from behind to win.
Meadows finished with 32 yards passing and 66 yards rushing on 14 carries.
Black carried 24 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns, while senior Blake Wood carried 12 times for 70. Devin Ruble added 32 yards on seven carries.
Sam Fette completed 15 of 30 passes for 202 yards and a score, while Konner Jackson gained 120 yards on 14 carries and scored twice.
All statistics are unofficial.
Greensburg, now 2-2, will host South Dearborn this Friday at 7 p.m. at Shriver Field.
