North spikers rally past Pirates

The North Decatur volleyball team visited Greensburg Tuesday night and won in five sets, 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15 and 15-11.

North climbed out of a two-set hole and prevailed in a tight encounter.

“We were not ready to play in sets one and two,” said North coach Cathy Fogle. “We let balls fall, we had some bad sets, and we just weren’t playing consistent. We regrouped changed our play and really fought hard for the win.”

North stats:

Baili Ewing served 18-20 and had 16 digs.

Erin Yager had 28 digs.

Kaitlin Herbert hit 4-4 with 2 kills and 1 dig.

Erin Hoeing served 9-10, hit 33-37 with 11 kills, 1 solo block and 19 digs.

Mary Hughes served 19-19 with 3 aces, set 63-67 with 16 assists, hit 2- 4 with 1 kill and 8 digs.

Laura Haunert served 27-28 with 5 aces, set 55-58 with 14 assists and 6 digs.

Anna Schwering hit 8-13 with 2 kills and 3 digs.

Allie Louder 2 blocks and 3 digs.

Anna Wallpe served 12-12, hit 26-26 with 12 kills, 3 solo blocks, 1 assist block, and 3 digs.

Alison Wallpe served 15-16 with 1 ace, hit 22-24 with 10 kills, had 3 solo blocks and 2 digs.

For Greensburg, senior Claire Welage tallied four service aces.

Sophomore Taylor McIntosh led Greensburg with 11 kills. Sophomore Keauna Schultz led her team with 10 kills and Welage added nine.

Junior Jenna Schutte and sophomore Mackenzie Kovacich paced the Pirates with 10 assists each.

The Greensburg junior varsity squad won in two sets, 25-21, 25-14.
