SD boys Senior Night vs Edinburgh
Pirate 8B girls fall
The Greensburg girls 8B basketball team lost to Waldron Tuesday night 41-27.
Scoring for Greensburg was Callie Black with 15 points, Haleigh Reed and Allie Reisman five points apiece and Meghann Kress with two.
The 8B team fell to Sunman-Dearborn Monday 33-11. Scoring for the Pirates: Reisman 4, Black 3, Meghann Kress 3, Reed 1.
Pirate 7B girls dominate Waldron
The Greensburg girls 7B basketball team defeated Waldron Tuesday 58-7. The leading scorer was Gracie Maxwell with 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals. Kirsten Hersley had 14 points and 4 steals. Sierra Johnson chipped in eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while Abby Scheumann had eight points and five rebounds. Ashley Bower had six points and three rebounds, while Emma Hellmich and Erica Evans grabbed two rebounds and three steals each.
The 7B Lady Pirates lost to Sunman-Dearborn 24-18 Monday. Ashley Bower was the leading scorer with nine points.
South JH girls sweep Ben Rush
The South Decatur girls junior high basketball teams swept Ben Rush Tuesday night.
The seventh graders won 14-11.
Taylor Best led South with six points and three steals.
Zoey Nobbe had 2 points and 4 steals. Brooke Owens had 2 points and 6 rebounds. Claire Wullenweber had 2 points and 5 steals. Tymesha Young chipped in two points.
The eighth graders beat Ben Rush 46-21.
Brooke Helms led South with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Hannah Smith followed with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Stacy Fox had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.
Delanie Diekhoff had 6 points,, 5 rebounds and 2 steals, while Sierra Deppe had 2 points and 4 rebounds.
South’s junior high girls next host Waldron Thursday.
Columbus Boomer tryouts offered
The Columbus Boomers will be having tryouts for their Spring girls AAU season. It will be at the Foundation For Youth on Feb. 26 and 27.
On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m., and grades 7 and 8 will be from 7-8:30 p.m.
