Greensburg — The North Decatur boys golf team hosted Waldron and Oldenburg Academy Tuesday for a tri-match. The Chargers beat Waldron 170-191 on the Prairie Nine Par 35. OA scored 290 points for third place.

North head coach Dan Borns said he was pleased the golfers were able to avoid letting weather cancel an outing.

“We dodged the rain to get this match in tonight,” he said. “It was good to actually play a competitive round as the weather has not been conducive to playing over the past couple of weeks.”

North senior Nick Stewart scored meet medalist honors, carding a 39.

“Nick Stewart dialed it in this evening,” said Borns.

Following Stewart, four golfers scored in the 40’s. Senior Thomas Shobe followed with a 42. Trevor Crites golfed a 32. Senior Charles Murray carded a 46, as did freshman Dayne Lecher. Brennan Coy tallied a 50.

North improves to 6-5 in head-to-head competition this season. The Chargers will compete in the annual County Meet Thursday at Wyaloosing Creek Golf Course at 4:30 p.m. The tri-meet will feature North, South Decatur and Greensburg.
