Greensburg — The Greensburg girls basketball team sent the Lady Pirate faithful home happy after beating Franklin County 54-32 Friday at home.
Franklin County led 11-6 after the first eight minutes, but head coach Mike Miller’s squad jumped ahead 24-17 at the half on the strength of an 18-6 second quarter.
The Lady Pirates shared the scoring as well as they have all season, with 11 girls entering the scorebook. Sophomores Taylor McIntosh (two 3-pointers) and Keauna Schultz each scored nine points to lead Greensburg. Schultz, who shared at least a share of the team lead for the second time this season, scored all of her points in the second half. Junior Abbey Denton shot 4-for-7 from the foul line and scored eight points. Junior Emma Wolter shot a pair of 3-pointers for six points, while junior Jessica Banaschak and sophomore Maddi Hellmich also scored six, including a triple.
Junior Megan Schmidt scored four and senior Sydney Wettering chipped in two. Sydney Meyer also scored two. Maddy Schroeder and Allie Geis rounded out the scoring with one apiece.
The Greensburg junior varsity team fell 47-25. Sydney Meyer scored a game-high 11 points, while Allie Geis added six and Samantha Cain scored five. Kate Porter and Calla Black each added two.
