Greensburg — The Greensburg varsity baseball team fell to visiting Columbus East Monday and conference rival Franklin County Tuesday night, marking a rare two-game losing streak for the Pirates.

Columbus East beat the Pirates 16-0 to start the week. The visiting Olympians did most of their damage Monday in the later innings. Senior Austin Schultz led Greensburg with two hits.

A grand slam forced the Pirates out of reach.

Greensburg fell to Franklin County 5-0 Tuesday on the road. The Wildcats scored six runs in the fifth inning and held Greensburg to three hits, including junior Macy Holdsworth’s double.

Junior Collin Rigney hit two fielders’ choice grounders, while sophomore Josiah Buell added one.

Greensburg is now 9-4 on the season and hosts Lawrenceburg tonight.
