Pirate junior high track beats Lions

Rushville — The Greensburg junior high track teams traveled to Rushville on a wonderful night with no rain! The Pirates came out ready to win and kept their momentum all night. The girls score was an impressive 93-12, sweeping nine out of 13 events. The boys’ track team was victorious with 59-46 that has several personal records on the night. The shot put team swept their event.  

Girls’ Varsity results:

Hurdles, 1. Bailey Meyer 17.44, Rylie Smith 18.14. No place for Ashlynn Meyer who fell with the hurdles but had a courageous finish!, 100m Valerie Busto 13.82. 1600m, 1, 2, 3 places with Haleigh Reed 5:42.78, Morgan Winkler 5:51, Cameron Jones 5:52. 800m, 1, 2, 3, Haleigh Reed, 2:32.2, Cameron Jones 2:37, Morgan Winkler 2:43. Long jump, 1, 2, 3 Rylie Smith 13-10.5, Montana Whitaker 12-07.5, Valerie Busto 12-06.

400m Bailey Meyer 1:08.21, Ashlynn Meyer 1:10.0. 200m Rylie Smith 29.45, Valerie Busto 29.81, Shot put 1, 2, 3, 1. Gabby Burton 34-04, Sydney Meyer 34-0.5, Keirsten Lynnette 33-0. Discus 1, 2, 3, Keirsten Lynette 77-10.5, Sydney Meyer 72-05, Taylor Klene 54-08, High  Jump 1, 2, 3, Elaine Welage 4-04, Emma Hellmich, 4-04, Kirstin Hersley 4-02.

Relays:

4x800 relay, 11:52.2, Kirstin Fong, Logan Hamer, Adrienne Horan, Cathy Newhart.

4x100 relay, :58.08, Rylie Smith, Tess Luers, Simone O’Mara, Valerie Busto.

4x400 relay, 4:45, Bailey Meyer, Cameron Jones, Morgan Winkler, Haleigh Reed.

Boys Varsity results:

Rushville came out strong and challenged the Boys’ Pirate Track team. The Pirates remained competitive and scored to win the meet. Catching all 3 places with the sweeps was the Shot Put team!

In the hurdles, Dylan Barber came in second with 19.46. 100m, 2. Jadrian Woods 12.79. Greg Schroeder won both 1600m and 800m with 5:08.07 and 2:21.6, respectively. Reid McClintic captured 3rd in both 1600m and 800m with 5:18 and 2:26.5. High Jump 2. Dylan Barber with 4-10, 3. Louis Moore 4-10. Dylan Barber placed 2nd in the 400m with 61.0. 200m, 2 Jadrian Woods, 26.43, 3. Luke Lozier 27.31.

Dominating in the Shot Put, 1. Harlan Dolan 38-05.5, 2. Jesse Hunter 37-03, 3. Landon Diekhoff 36-11 3.  Discus 1. Thomas Stevens, 111-11.5, 2. Dylan Cain 103-08. Long jump 2. Greg Schroeder 15-03, 3. Luke Lozier with 13-06.

The 4x400 Relay clocked a 4:10.8, team of Zach Bartosz, Dylan Barber, Reid McClintic, Greg Schroeder.
