Greensburg Daily News
The Greensburg boys golf team fell to host Shelbyville 164-166 at Bear Chase Golf Course in Shelbyville.
The meet medalist for the match was Greensburg’s Sam Marsh with a 2-over 38.
Other Greensburg scores were Tyler Reiger (40), Keegan McCullough (42), Maverick Jones (46), Reid Domingo (46), Jake Hellmich (48), Brandon Butz (52), Cody Bausback (53), and Bill Neumeier (56).
Shelbyville was lead by Connor Ridgeway with a 39.
Greensburg head coach Bryce Mize said he is seeing the golfers’ hard work start to pay off.
I was proud of the way the guys played today,” he said. “We started off really well, but just a few bad breaks cost us some strokes down the stretch. It was a great comeback from the way we played on Friday at Connersville. It was really good to see Sam and Tyler get things going, and hopefully they can continue their great play. I was also happy to see Keegan break through with a good score tonight. He had been pressing to get his scores down.”
The Pirates’ tri match, which was rescheduled from April 9 against Lawrenceburg, was rained out Tuesday. East Central also was set to compete in the tri match.
Greensburg’s linksters next will compete in the Noblesville Invitational Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
