Pirate linksters top visiting Tigers

Greensburg — The Greensburg boys varsity golf team defeated visiting Lawrenceburg 165-242 Tuesday on the front nine at the Greensburg Country Club.

"It was nice being at home for the first time all year,” said Greensburg second-year head coach Bryce Mize. “Unfortunately, only four guys were able to play in the match.”

Greensburg freshman Keegan McCullough was meet medalist for the dual match with a 3-over 38.

Other Greensburg scores were Sam Marsh (39), Tyler Reiger (44), and Maverick Jones (44).

“It was great seeing how our scores can be at home, and my feeling is that they can only get better. Sam and Keegan both played terrific, and Tyler and Maverick had their bright spots as well.”

Greensburg next plays in the Decatur County Meet Friday at Greensburg Country Club, competing against North Decatur and South Decatur. The tri-meet is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
