Pirate track teams compete in tri meet at S. Dearborn

The Greensburg track and field teams competed in a tri meet at South Dearborn Wednesday. The Pirates traveled to Aurora and competed against host South Dearborn and Jennings County, while the girls competed against South Dearborn.

Greensburg’s girls dominated throughout the meet, beating South Dearborn 73-58.

According to Greensburg girls coach Katina Tekulve, nearly every Greensburg athlete earned a ribbon and contributed greatly to the final score.

“It was an incredible team effort to pull off such a big win against a competitive team,” said Tekulve.

New personal records were set by freshman Michaela Myers in her leg of the 4x800, freshman Rylie Smith in long jump and senior Mary Kamman in shot put.

Four Lady Pirates won multiple events. Sophomore Shelby Pake and Rylie Smith won three, while Mary Kamman and sophomore Taylor McIntosh won two.
